3/16/05 NICU Follow Up Clinic

Today we had our 9 month check up at the NICU follow up clinic at the hospital where Emma was born. She did great. She weighed in at 20 lbs even, 27 inches long, and head circumference was 16 1/2 inches. They evaluated her fine/gross motor skills and her speech. She is delayed, of course that was expected, but because we have intervention they have no suggestions except to keep up the good work! :-) Our PT works very hard with Emma. All of her work is paying off the OT and PT at the hospital were impressed.

The Dr. that saw her though said that her rash isn't viral. It is an allergy reaction. He assumes that it is an allergy reaction to the Zithromax, an anitbiotic, that she was on for her bronchitis. She looks somewhat better, but not much. So I should quit saying rash and call it hives, I guess.

Emma is doing great though! Her same ol' happy self. She is thinking about crawling. :-) She has excellent arm posture, but just can't get those legs tucked just yet. We are working on it soon though.

Don't forget to look at her website...we update often!
