Surgery Update

Well, we are home from the hospital. We were there Thursday and Friday. Her surgery went very well. Her adenoids were very large and Dr. Mowry feels she will be able to breathe easier now. She had trouble coming out of the anesthia. They kept her intubated until she woke up on her own. Once she finally woke up, we just tried to get her pain under control. We were on the Peds floor after recover. Nurse M-- wasn't a very good nurse. She misread Dr. Mowry's orders for pain and poor Emma was in pain for HOURS. When the evening nurse came on she tried to figure out what was wrong. She reread the chart and then called Dr. Mowry. They determinded that Nurse M-- hadn't given Emma enough pain meds. In fact we were told it was just a few drops. Within 15 minutes of receiving a full dose Emma went to sleep. She slept for quite some time. Then woke up and recieved more pain meds and went right back to sleep.

We came home on Friday afternoon. She goes through spurts where she will play, sleep, play, sleep. Her temper is a little shorter than usual, but I think that will get better as she gets more rests and begins to feel better.

She isn't eating or drinking very well. We are just making sure that we offer it to her. It seems she only wants to drink Dr. Pepper! Silly goose! :-)

Her check up will be in 2 weeks.

Thank you for all the visits and prayers! Please keep them going strong!

Baby Snowbarger Update:

I have an u/s on Tuesday just to check and see how baby bean is doing. Morning sickness is nice a strong. (not like Emma, but it is still enough to make you wish the 1st trimester was over and moving to the 2nd) I will update with u/s pics when I get them!
